Description
Funded RCPI learning programme for teams with HSCP Members
Advancing Leadership for Integrated Care Excellence (ALICE)
Dear Colleagues,
An exciting opportunity has arisen for teams with Health and Social Care Professionals to complete a bespoke Quality Improvement (QI) learning programme designed to strengthen integrated care delivery in their setting. The programme aims to teach learner teams how to complete a quality improvement project in the workplace and provide knowledge and skills to utilise QI methods to enhance service development and delivery into the future. This inaugural cohort is funded for HSE (Health Service Executive) community or acute health and social care professional teams by the HSE National Health & Social Care Professions Office (NHSCPO) and delivered by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI).
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Reflect on the components of effective leadership for quality improvement in their own practice
- Work with their team to apply improvement methodologies and tools to a quality improvement project in their workplace
RCPI expert faculty will work with teams to help develop skills and insight into individual and team areas of strength and for development, provide comprehensive training in QI methodologies and tools to systematically improve care processes and outcomes, teach how to effectively collect, analyse, and utilise data to inform decision-making and measure the impact of improvement initiatives. We will explore key QI project management considerations, including financial awareness, project management and stakeholder engagement to support sustainable implementation of QI projects.
What to expect
This collaborative improvement programme includes a short online induction, five learning sessions (3 in-person, 2 virtual) and two virtual coaching sessions over 7 months, with 28 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) awarded for course completion. All team members must be available to attend all sessions. Learners will complete some pre course and in-course work, and implement a workplace-based improvement project with their team over the 7 months.
