Parasitology Workshop – Cork Institute of Technology May 2016
Parasitology workshop presented at Cork Institute of Technology on 7th May 2016.
This workshop was organised by Dr Norma Reidy chairperson of the Haematology Advisory body with The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine in association with Professor Mary Cahill and The National Specialist Training Scheme for Haematology Registrars in Ireland.
The course was presented by Ms Claire Rogers, Principal Biomedical Scientist, Hospital for Tropical Diseases London and was open to Medical Scientists and Haematology Specialist Registrars SpR’s . The course was very well presented and Ms Rogers presented cases of malaria and parasites which she brought with her from the Hospital for Tropical Diseases London. The course was presented as a 2hr teaching session in the morning followed by a workshop where each person had their own slides and microscopes.
Feedback from the course was excellent with all attendees deeming it to be one of the best parasitology workshops they had ever attended.
Many thanks to Ms Claire Rogers for presenting an excellent workshop, and to the two sponsors of the workshop Leo and Gillead.
