In July 2023, Esther joined St. Vincent’s University Hospital as a Principal Biochemist. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Trinity College Dublin and has successfully completed Part 1 of the FRCPath in Clinical Biochemistry.
Abstract:
The Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) is a prestigious qualification that signifies advanced expertise in pathology disciplines, including clinical biochemistry. While highly regarded, the application and examination process can be daunting, particularly for Medical Scientists in Ireland who lack access to the structured training schemes available in the UK. This webinar aims to bridge that gap by providing a clear, practical guide for those wishing to pursue the FRCPath qualification.
Drawing from my own experience successfully completing Part 1 in Clinical Biochemistry as a Medical Scientist, I will outline the application process, share insights on preparation strategies, and discuss how to approach the exam effectively. The talk will cover key aspects such as eligibility criteria and online resources.
Although my experience is in clinical biochemistry, the application process will be the same for scientists from other pathology-related disciplines who may be considering the FRCPath journey. By addressing common challenges and offering actionable advice, this webinar seeks to empower attendees with the confidence and knowledge to take the next steps toward achieving this significant career milestone.
Join us as we demystify the process and open doors to a qualification that can elevate your professional standing and expertise in laboratory medicine.
